Would you like to receive God’s forgiveness?
God also gave man a priceless gift – freedom of moral choice. However man fell from God’s grace when Adam and Eve who believed a lie of satan, disobeyed God by eating fruit from the one tree they were told was forbidden. So Adam brought sin into the earth and from that time on everyone has been born in sin (Psalm 51.5)
In Romans 3.23 the Apostle Paul tells us that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. In Romans 6.23 we are told that ‘the wages of sin is death’; this is eternal death (separation from God forever) and awaits all who choose to not accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
God is very clear in His word that mankind (His creation) has sinned against Him. We are a planet in rebellion and God is a holy God that cannot look on sin – it separates us from Him, so we have a problem!!
But the good news is that He put a plan in place to save us. He made a way for us to come close to Him. Romans 3.23 goes on to say that ‘the gift of God is eternal life through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ’.
We can’t earn salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, believe that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins—that’s called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty. We suggest praying the prayer below to accept Christ as your Saviour.
Evidence of God’s Love and the Good News of the Gospel
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
He gave us His free gift – His precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who paid our sin debt in full; He died in our place so we could have a relationship with God and be with Him forever. But it didn’t end with His death on the cross. He rose again and still lives!
The Apostle Paul tells us the Good News of the Gospel – In his letter to the Romans (10.9) he tells us that, ‘If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved’.
Pray Now
“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
